- The local fairs were held in the towns and villages. The fairs were not always held in towns. Sometimes buyers go to the farmers houses to buy horses and cattle.
There used to be fair in Stradone which is not carried on now. There are no local traditions of fairs held on hills or forts. The local fair is not held in the streets but it is held on the fair green. Toll is not paid on cattle in the local fair. Luck money is given to the person who is buying the animal. This is called the luck-penny. When an agreement is being made between the buyer and seller as to how much will be paid they arrange to get so much back(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
