    Those attending weddings used to race against each other on horseback and the winner who reached the brides house first got a prize of a five-naggin bottle of whiskey.
    When "straw-boys" were not welcome they used to run away with the traps and carts of the visitors and also pull the thatch off the house if it was a thatched one.
