- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)he did not give him a crock of gold. The fairy said he had no gold but "Saine" had it. The man asked him where Saine was and he said he was the other side of the ditch and the man looked across the ditch but when he turned his head again he could see neither of the fairies. The man died in a few days after and when some of the neighbours went into the house they saw the two fairies each side of him and each had a sword. One of the soldiers fairies changed one of the neighbours into a "banshee" and the rest of the neighbours fled. It was said that any person whose name started with "S" always saw the fairy and they never had one day's luck for three or four years.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
