    The cure for the sore throat is to roast salt, put it in a stocking and put it round the neck of the person having the sore throat.

  2. Long ago there were not many doctors and when a person was sick he got a cure from certain plants, trees or people. There was a certain tree with had two barks and when the second bark was boiled in water, the water is said to cure the jaundice. The cure for a bleeding cut is to chew a weed called slanlous, and put it on it and wild carrots cures kidney troubles. Another plant called rose-noble when cut in pieces and drawn in water is said to cure consumption. Animal were also cured of diseases. Diarrhoea was cured by giving them part of the plant called tormenting root cholera in pigs was cured by giving a leaf
