- Butler Earl of [Landlords] Lanesboro was the local landlord of Belturbet and he lived in Quivvy about three miles from Belturbet.There is nothing only the ruins of the castle left. It was burned in 1920 the time of the Anglo Irish war.He was a good landlord and had no evictions during the troubles. He treated his tenants very decently and he did not charge them too much rent. The people of Belturbet own their own land now. Main St., used to be called Butler St., called after a Lord named Butler.
- The oldest graveyard in the district is Clonosey next comes Drumalee. The oldest headstone in Clonosey is 1701 and the name could not be made out. There is also another one and the date is 1827. There is a man named John Gaffney of Drumalee was buried in the year 1802.
