- In this part of the country matchmaking flourished at one time and exists today among the farming classes but not among the working classes. Long discussions take place about money or farms. If a man or girl marries into another house they must bring money as a fortune and this is arranged before any marriage takes place.
No marriage takes place in the house of the parties. All take place in churches. After the marriage all return to the bride's house where a feast is given after which bride and bridegroom go away if they have money.
