- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)and taught Mike Hegarty of Dunmanus dancing and fiddle-music. He was also a great story-teller and loved to tell about Fionn and the doings of his famous dogs.
This pupil of Kellehers, Mike Hegarty composed a song on Glaun. Here it is :-
I often think of the bygone days
The merry fair in town.
When herds were on the mountain side
And happy homes in GlaunA sporting place, a charming race,
A land for music famed
Sure Rambler lived behind the hill
We was lord of Tureen Cain
Where Nancy great a lovely lass (Gallagher)
A star was Nelly Brown
Oh, life was well worth living for
Those sporting days of Glaun. The dancing school was there in bloom
A wealth of pleasure reigned.
With flocks and herds to roam the glen
And graze the mountain range
Famed Cornic would cross the mountain pass
From Schull his native town
Acourting Mary of the Glen
The sporting lass from Glaun,(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
