    the groom's place and house. The wedding used to take place on a day fixed by both parties. On the night of the wedding all the parties friends would attend. There used to be whiskey, wine, sweet cake and wedding cake served on the table. It was an old custom for straw-boys to visit the wedding house. They used to be dressed in fancy clothes with big straw hats worn down over their faces. One of them used to dance with the bride. They used to get drink.
