she went for a walk, one day, with the aid of a walking-stick. She was poking around a gooseberry bush when suddenly her stick touched something hard. She rooted it up and found it was a cover. Thinking she would find more, the woman rooted on, until, to her amazement!, she found a pot of gold. She ran into the house, to tell of her discovery. The people of the house ran out, and the was not a sign of the gold nor of where the woman rooted.
There is a large grove near my house at Kilcommon. In the grove there is a hole about twelve feet deep. It is called the "money hole", because, there is money supposed to be hidden there. It is believed that it was the Danes who buried it there. The people, who dug the hole, saw the money but, when they were going to take up the money, a horse, ridden by a headless man, appeared and hunted them.
