they had appointed to meet and the lady walked across it for a near cut. The ice broke and she was drowned in sight of her intended. Since then there has been a ghost seen several times like a lady dressed in white on the road convenient to the canal where she was drowned.
About thirty years ago in the townland of the Mountain Hill it was said that there was a ghost in a house where people named Mac Geough lived. When the man would put the horses in the stable and shut the doors they would come out again. They did this for some time and as there was no change he put them into a field and shut the gates and they would not stay in. At length he got the ghost confined into a bottle by the Priest.
