Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)herbs mentioned posses medicinal properties. Hops and cuckoo sorrel raw are good for the nerves, billberry and sloes make medicinal wine.
Dandelion is good for the blood. Dock root is good for colds. Ground ivy fried in goose seam and applied as a poultice is good for a sore throat. The berries on 'buartree' are good for making ink and poison.
The common nettle that grows in gardens and in old houses is used by some people as a vegetable and for purifying the blood. Bill berry jam is used. Hops are used to make beer. Dandelion wine is made from dandelion which is good for stomach trouble and dandelion leaf is good for sun burn. Dye can be made from ivy leaves.
Herbs were used on a very large scale in olden times as cures.I did not get any information about anyone being cured, but i heard that hops cured a persons nerves and I cannot recall the person cured. A person was also cured of a sore throat(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
