- One time two men were digging potatoes in afield near a fort. That year the potatoes were much better than ever they had been before.
When they had about six ridges dug, they say down to eat their dinner. While they were eating it, six fairies wearing greens dresses and red caps came out of the fort and began picking the potatoes. When they went in again the men came back to the place where they were digging but not a single potato was missing.
The potatoes were never as good in that field again.- Collector
