   There was a woman in this parish not long ago and when she would be churning she would shut the door. She would sell more butter on one or two cows that the whole townland. It is said that this woman was taking neighbours' butter. Another man in this parish had a cow and she would give very little milk and worse still no butter would come on the milk. The people raised the alarm and told the priest. The priest said that it was an herb that was growing on the man's land and that the cow ate it and that that was the reason why no butter would come on the milk. It is said that if you put a red-hot iron under the churn at churning time that it will prevent people from taking your butter. People tried this in the past however but it was no use. It is believed that if you get salt of the person that
