Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)veil over her face. They would not get married till after dinner. Then they would come home to the grooms house and all the neighbours and friends would gather. They had eating and drinking and dancing. About bed-time the straw-boys would come and if they didn't get anything they would do some harm.
When the wedding was near the grooms house the party were met with a bottle of whiskey and the bride took the first drink the groom the next and the rest finished it. Then they threw it on the road and if it went in on the grass and didn't break it was a sign of ill luck.
Some times people would go on horse-back and they would run to see who would be first at the grooms house and who ever was(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
