  1. The nearest holy well to my place is in Youghal Arra. This well is situated in the centre of a field belonging to Captain Keogh, people visit this well on St. Conlon's day 24th July and the rounds must be made before sunrise or after sunset people go round the well six times and say a decade of their beads as they go along. When this is done three drinks of the water are taken and anyone with sore eyes bathes them in a little out-let of this well. There are numerous relics left at this well even a crutch, bits of
