- My grandfather was living in Ballyblood at one time. One day a woman came into my grandfather's mother and asked her for a pan of flour. She gave her the pan of flour and left it on the table. Then my grandfather's mother told her to rest and she said she would wait for a few minutes. When the few minutes were up the woman said she would be leaving because she had men reaping oats and wanted to make bread for them. When she was going she said she would bring it back in a few days. Then out the door she went and my grandfather's [mother] looked after her and she was gone.
