There are four blessed wells in the parish of Doora, namely, St Brigid's Well, St Michael's, St Brecan's Well, and St Odhran's Well. St Brigid's Well is in the townland of Castletown, St Brecan's Well in Noughaville, St Michael's Well in Kilbrickan, and St Odhran's Well in Upper Doora in the vicinity of the old church-yard. Within the memory of the present inhabitants, St Brecan's Well was never visited by pilgrims and the people use the water for their household purpose, St Odhran's Well was visited in my grandmother's time. St Brigid's Well is not visited, but St Michael's Well is still visited on September 29th. I do not know on what days they were or are visited.
