At nearly every wedding they used to have a few geese killed. When the couple would be getting ready for the marriage the bride would wear :
Something old, something new.
Something borrowed, something blue.
The bride and bridegroom would go to the church in two different cars, and they would come home in one car.
When they would be leaving the church the friends would throw old shoes after the married couple.
It is lucky to meet a tinker, and it is unlucky to meet a funeral coming home from the marriage.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
