About three years ago the walls were cleaned and any of the walls which were in danger of falling were repaired. Many of the Roches were buried in the Abbey. it is now the principal burying ground of the locality.
About a mile from Grange school there is an old ruin called Bridgetown Abbey. It is on the North of the Blackwater and between the Junction of the Awabeg and the Blackwater.
There are alot of stories connected with this Abbey. Long ago there was a man who was building a new house. The mason saw a nice stone in the graveyard. He took the stone and put it in a corner of the house. Next morning the stone was back again in the Abbey. He took it again and he put it in the corner and it was back again in the Abbey next day. He did not take it anymore. The stone is still to be seen in the Abbey.
