- Poll Caoch is an old well in the townland of Nuankeagh, parish of Ruan, Co. Clare. It means the blind hole. The water was said to cure sore eyes. There is a big ivy tree growing over it. The well is cut in the solid rock, and there are steps leading down to the water which comes out between two rock. In the driest and warmest weather it is full of water and the water in it is very cold. People do not perform "Rounds" there now but they use to long ago, and it is said that many cures took place there.
