- Our churn is a churn worked up and down with the dash. It is fifthteen inches in height thirtheen inches on top and eighteen inches in the bottom. The various parts are called, the dash, the lid and the dabbler.
Butter is made three times in the week. Before starting the churning sometimes salt is shaken on the lid. This is done to keep the fairies away. The people know when the butter is made because the dash is clean. They put water in it to rince it down.
