    They would melt lead through the hole in the key and whatever it would form such as a ship the eldest girl in the house would marry a sailor. If it formed a cow she would marry a farmer; a loaf of bread she would marry a baker and so on.
    On one St. Brigids night my father and other men got ready for the "Biddy" in this way they make a big green doll and one of them carried her on his shoulders from house to house they went asking for money.
    On (hallow) Hallow Eve (the) my mother told me people get two beans and put them on the fire. They are representing a boy and a girl. If the two hop together there will be a marriage if not there is no marriage. Sometimes to prove it they put them in a bucket of water. If the two hop sink together there will be a marriage if not there will be no marriage.
