“Dear Mother, ¶ Two girls came in to the school yesterday and gave every one of us a penny to buy sweets for ourselves.”

The girls told us to buy toffees for the pennies ourselves. The girls used to be fishing in the river. The teacher bought the sweets in the stop yesterday and she divided the sweets today round on the scholars of the school. All in the school got some. The girls are called girls because they have a scottish talk.
