- St John’s Night falls on the twenty third of June. The people of this part of the country have a very queer custom in that night. All the people of the village gather together and they make a very big fire in the side of the road. Some one of them brings a musical instrument with them and then they have great sport dancing and after a long time the people quench the big fire and then every one brings a coal from the big fire and put’s it in his own garden and he believes(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
