On this page
- "The old people say the wind is red- "The colour of fire".
"Pigs see the wind"
If a person drank sow's milk, he could see the wind.
The wind from the East brings sickness - "The wind is coming from Russia, people may mind themselves". "When you hear the cuckoos first, look at the sole of your foot, if there is a grey hair on it, you won't live long, if there is a black one you'll live to be old." (The opposite of this version is what's always heard in my own native parish - Granard - grey hair on foot - long life, & vice versa.)
