    The churns that people used long ago were not the same as the churns that the people use now. There were different sorts of churns long ago namely the spring churn, the horse churn, and the barrel churn. When the people would have milk to churn they would first clean the churn and then put the milk into it. They would put the dash into it then put the lid on it. There would be a hole in the lid so that the dash could be pulled up and down through it. There would be a dabbed put on the dash so that the milk would not splash up
