- MCMahon's StoneLong ago in the townland of Leck about three miles from Monaghan there was a famous stone. It is said that Mc. Mahon was crowned as chief of Monaghan there. But seventy years or eighty years ago the man who owned the farm not far from Leck broke it up and built a house with it. This stone was about 12 feet x by 10 feet and 3 feet in height. It was situated about a quarter of a mile from Our house. It is said that if we had it now the people would break it. The place where the stone was can be pointed out yet by a lot of the people.
- McMahon's StoneMc Mahon's Stone is one of Monaghan's famous relics. This family was crowned on this stone. It was situated about a half a mile from Leck and about four miles Monaghan. Some time ago some person took away this stone and broke it up for building purposes. The Mc. Mahons were very popular in County Monaghan into the reign of Queen Elizabeth when they were seized and tried for high treason.
