    They then made up their minds to walk to Roscommon this journey occupied almost the whole day. When they reached Roscommon the water was coming out in eyelids of there loots. There they found a train which brought them to Dublin where they got a boat to take them across to England. Lawrence Hughes also used to walk to Castlebar and do a days work and walk home again in the evening. Castlebar is about seven and a quarter miles from his home.
    Carramore is a village three miles from Balla. In Carramore a man named William Hughes was a noted dancer he used to dance jigs, reels, and hornpipes.
