    and people say that no Shamrock grows in Manulla ever since, but this is not true.
    As he was leaving for Turlough it is said that he cursed the village and that the curse would have the following effects- first that no shamrock would grow there, and that Manulla would never produce a Priest "he is supposed to have said May ye be poor and proud to the end of time"
