   There were different kinds of bread made long ago namely, known bread, white bread and oaten-meal bread. The bread was made from wheat and oats. They were grown locally. Whole-flour was also made from wheat. It is made at the present day.

   There were potato-cakes and boxty made. The people make them at present. The potato-cakes were made from flour and potatoes mixed with new milk. The potatoes were broken and the flour was mixed with them and the milk was added. Some people put an egg in the potato-cakes and it makes them very nice.
