In almost every house in the district there are some sort of Emblems placed in houses, for instance on St Bridgid's night (on the first of February) There are Crosses made of Straw and hung up by some one of the Family behind the Rafters, to honour the Saint, or else to honour her on account of all the Churches and Crosses she erected On Saint Patricks Day 17th March Shamrocks are worn and green articles also to honour the Saint. At Xmas Holly and Ivy are placed behind pictures and other articles to remind people of the Birth of Our Lord On Palm Sunday branches of Palm are blessed and districbuted in every church these are taken home placed behind some picture or carefully stored away in some Drawer and burned the following year NOTE: These Crosses and Palms are suposed
