    My heart jumped high with grief and joy.
    My mind was full of glee.
    When I get the invitation for the New Chapel spree
    My suit it is preparing for its there I’ll surely go
    For the likes of it there never was in the County Mayo.

    From Ballinrobe they’ll bring bochass,
    Fitzgerald he is by name,
    They’ll have Melodeons and Cornoples a band fife and a drum
    Concertinas and Accordeons and flutes will also come
    For eating they’ll have bacon, mutton, and strong beef
    And two and sixpence for each couple
    It’s a thing I cannot believe.
