    leads past the forge to the pathway joining Larganboy with Erriff.
    It is the general belief that some of those porches were made as relief works during the famine. Before bridges were made Mannin River was crossed by a wooden plank, for it was a deep river, but the Erriff river which was shallow was crossed by means of stepping stones. Long ago the Larganboy crossroads was the meeting place for all the youngsters of the district.
