- There was once a man and woman living together in a house. They were not too rich. The trade the man had was shoemaking. Every night he left three pairs of shoes on the table cut out read to make. They were finished next morning. Every night he did the same. One night the woman stayed up to see who was doing this. At last the fairies came down the chimney. The woman was hiding inside the curtain. The fairies did the same work as before. They went dancing then. The woman clothed them and she lived with her husband very happily after that.
