- The churn with which we make our churning is about thirty years old. It has such fine timber that it has the appearance of existing for thirty years more. It has a different shape to modern churns. It is narrow at the top and gets still narrower towards the middle. From here it gets wider and wider towards the bottom. The upper part of the churn is called the "cosheen" and there are five rings of hoops outside the churn in order to keep the timber of the churn tightly together. We churn oftener during the Summer than during Winter(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
