- The old people have many signs to tell the kind of weather we are going to have. When there will be rain the curlews are screeching, and the swallows are flying low, the hens are picking their feathers also, and the ducks are screeching. We know when there is going to be fine weather when the sky is bright, and the swallows are flying high up in the air. The sun goes down red, and the sky is very red around where the sun goes down, when the fine weather is coming.
