- There are many fords in the river. Their names are The Alt a Claidheen ford, the Ána Croise ford and the Puill na Cloiche ford. The people can tell when there is good or bad weather to come from the sounds of the fords. When the Alt a Claidheen ford sounds they say there is frost to come.
