Some Protestants are buried in the old graveyard. Three of them lie side by side, and are railed in by strong iron railing. The three are:- Jane Gardiner of Lakefield, John Gardiner of Lakefield, and his nephew John Gardiner Matthews of Ballinahaglish. At the bottom of their headstone is written, "They shall have eternal life" Mrs Matilda Thompson of Foxford is also buried there.
John Gardiner, and his nephew are buried in one grave. The headstone erected over those two men is a marble one, and the other two are stone ones.
