  1. There is a fort in the Sandpit field (no8). There was a man coming from a dance one night and as he was passing the field he heard horses galloping round in a ring. He was telling the neighbours and they told him that it was the fairies. This fort is in Longford, near Crossmolina, Co Mayo.
