    up to the door and knocked and Ivers came out. When he saw Condon he asked him his name and business. Condon said "My name is Garret Condon and I have come to pay you in Airgid Síos". So saying, he whipped out his pistol and shot Ivers through the mouth, knocking out his tongue. Ivers fell dead and Condon picked up Ivers' tongue and climbed over the wall. He mounted his horse and went through the town and was across the bridge before the guards could stop him. They sent the hounds after him and it was easy for them to trail him because he was trailing his master's tongue along the road. Near the Round Hill he threw off the tongue and was across the river and away before the hounds were finished fighting over the tongue. It is said that it poisoned them. Since then "Condon's Quarters" has been taken in the district to mean a threat of severe punishment.
