  1. One winter's night in the year 1891 a great gale arose. The wind blew so string that even the strongest trees fell. In the morning a big tree which had stood the gale for many years fell. The old people used to say that the tree was hollow and full of bees. But the wind blew away the bees. People come from far and near to gather the honey and to their delight, they got buckets of it.
    In the year 1872 there was a big rainstorm. A field, the property of Matt Nolan, overlooking Barrons' Road was flooded. The rain lasted for one week. The ditch fell out on the road, and no one could pass until it was cleared away.
