  1. There is a tradition in the townland of Dooran that there is treasure hidden in caves at Dooran Rock. It is supposed that it was hidden by the Danes when they were put to flight by the O'Donnells about a thousand years ago. The correct value of the treasure is not known but it is estimated to be very valuable. It consists of gold and precious vessels.
    Many tales are told of this treasure by local fisherman who say that lights are often seen on stormy nights.
    The caves are not to be mistaken for the rattling caves
