    Till I was twenty one I lived happy with my mother,
    My heart was light and free and I knew not any bother,
    Yet somehow I was inclined when would [?] come the summer weather
    For to go and spend a day up among the Glenfin Heather.

    One Sunday after Mass when the dinner it was over,
    The evening for to pass up the glen I went to rover
    By the Salmon Leap so grand and the Castle both together
    And the river rippling down from among the Glenfin Heather.

    My fancy led me on by each meadow glen and mountain,
