  1. My father told me the following story about the town-land of Cloughfin. It got its name from a white stone which was standing up in a field owned by Patrick Allen. About four years ago the stone was broken up by some men and it was carried away. The word Cloughfin means white stone. Cloughfin school is built about the centre of the town-land. I live in the town-land of Cloughfin. There is a a Mass tree in this town-land also.
