    continued from 1846 to 1880 until there was an Act passed to give the tenants a fixity of Tenure from the Land league, afition continued until the time most of the Landlords sold our their properties. Landlords used to make the tenants work for a 1/2d a day and they gave them potatoes and buttermilk for the dinner. They worked instead of paying the rent.
