    At first they took all the hair off the skin. Then they left it to dry in the sunshine. When it was very hard they put some kind of oil on it. They left it to dry again and kept it in a warm place so that it would not crack.
    They used to make laces for shoes out of the skin of an ass. They dried it very well first. When it was dry
