  2. Cures
    Whooping cough. If you met a man with a white horse and ask him for a cure, and whatever he says will cure the person.
    Measles. To stay in bed nine days.
    Chicken cough. To stay in bed five days.
    Consumption. Fresh air and sun-shine.
    Rheumatism. To carry a raw potato in your shirt pocket.
    Yellow-yandes. To go out to the well and take in a bucket of water. Then get a pint mug and fill it with water and put a tea-spoon bread soda into it. Take a few spoons of it every four hours.
