If that person looked behind him the leipreachan would be gone when the person would turn around again. Then that person would have to go home without the pot of gold.

   There was once a boy named Jack who was living with his father and he went on a service to a certain farmer that had gold forks and knives. Jack used to steal the forks and the knives, and the farmer told the father to put Jack what trade he liked best, and Jack said to him that if he would let him go to a certain tree that an angel would be there before him and that he should tell him what trade he
