    Mr John Kelly of Knockaun's House.
    He was the greatest all-round athlete in the district. He was the greatest weight-thrower in Connacht and was the recognised leader of all the games in North Galway.
    Running, jumping and weight throwing were practised extensively too. Many great records were made but unfortunately no account was kept of them.
