- There are a lot of stories connected with the churning in olden times wich were handed down to us from the old people.
It is said that a woman long ago named Gilligan who lived in Finnargh was churning when she had the milk churned she could not get enough vessels to hold the enormous amount of butter. In order to find what was the reason of it she asked her neighbours had they any butter and they said "No". It is said this woman had all the butter of the district in her churn. The old people say if a man came in to a house while the people were churning and lit his pipe with a coal out(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
